Branding Case Study: Master Dumper
We built a junk removal company’s brand from the ground up
Who We Helped
Master Dumper is a family-owned business located in Delaware, Ohio. They specialize in junk removal and hauling services for both commercial and residential properties. They’re capable of handling loads of any size, from appliances to big pieces of furniture. Master Dumper prides themselves on providing prompt and cost-effective solutions to meet their clients’ junk removal needs.
The Problem
When we first met with Master Dumper, their business was just getting started. The owner, who was a construction contractor, had to shut down his business due to the pandemic. The demand for construction had diminished, and he was looking for ways to get back on his feet amidst the shutdown. He decided to create an entirely new brand centered around hauling services. The only problem was they had no name, no logo, no website, or any marketing plans at all. Our aim was to help them launch their business, increase brand visibility, and establish a strong presence in the industry.
How We Did It
The first order of business was to come up with their unique brand identity. This includes not only their name and logo, but their tagline and mission statement. We focused on creating a name that would be both catchy and memorable. Considering the nature of their junk removal services, we thought of the name “Master Dumper” as it evokes a sense of fun and it’s hard to forget. From there, we chose the logo colors, which are medium green, black and white. Using these colors, our designer incorporated a graphic of a pick-up truck along with the new name to design the logo.
Master Dumper wanted to emphasize their ability to handle junk removal of all sizes while being customizable to their customer’s needs. Whether it’s bulky appliances or sizable furniture, they had the expertise to do it all. We crafted the tagline “We handle any size dump” which would convey their commitment to meeting any hauling needs.
As a small family-owned business, Master Dumper deeply values their local community. Because they’re family, they work well together to ensure the best service to their customers, which sets them apart from their competitors. This is where we get their company values, which is being loyal to their local community.
After all the branding was completed, it was time to start designing things like uniforms, decals for company trucks, and print media. Our design team created the merchandise for the Master Dumper team to wear on the job and for photos.
And all marketing initiatives stem from what source? The website! So that’s the next step we had to take. Now that we had the brand together, our web developer was able to use the brand colors and logo to build out the backbone of the website.
Next, we had to get the website content. We had all the information we needed to write about the company and services, but one thing was missing—pictures! We planned a day to go on-site in Delaware to take photos of the team in their new shirts. We even took a drone in order to get pictures of the trucks with the truck wraps and the landscape of the property.
Once we had the photo and video content, we added them to the website and used them to create enticing Google and Facebook ads to be displayed online. Lastly, we created a door hanger design and signs for them to physically market in their community. We designed and printed 500+ door hangers to put on the doors of houses and businesses, and they utilized the signs to be hung at local events to promote their services.
